Solution Focus hypnotherapy focuses on the strength and skills you have and how you can move forward to develop those strengths and skills to achieve whatever goal, or best hopes you have in mind for yourself.
Through the sessions we will restore and re regulate the mind body connection, thus helping with the stress response and all the psychological and physical symptoms that can occur with this.
There are many tools we use in therapy, tools we have right at our fingertips, my job as the therapist is to arm you with this tool kit which will help bring about change, correcting habits and unwanted patterns of behaviour and quite simply helping you become the person you want to be.
We will establish small steps and small goals within each session, as well as setting simple tasks to do outside the session which will all reinforce this change and bring about a positive, workable future.
My aim is that you leave the sessions with a sense of perspective, purpose, positivity and calmness, until you no longer need my help.

How long are the hypnotherapy sessions?
You will receive a FREE initial phone call, where we can discuss how I can help you and set up a time and date for the Initial Consultation. Please remember I do work on zoom too if this is preferable to your circumstances.
The first Initial Consultation is 45 minutes - 1 hour, although allow a little for flexibility. In this session it is important that you feel confident this is the right therapy for you and I am the right person to help you. In this session you will get an understanding of how the brain works in relation to your problem and how we can change the neural pathways to journey towards your chosen outcome, goals, and best hopes for the future. There is no obligation to book any more sessions at the end of it.
Subsequent sessions are 1 hour.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, everything is confidential but there may be times where confidentiality will need to be broken, this is when there are safeguarding issues, either to myself as a therapist or others or if it prevents a crime from being committed. You will be given a copy of GDPR on how your data is stored and a confidentiality consent form to be signed before therapy begins.
How often have you drifted off into a daydream when immersed in a task? Driving the familiar route to work or so entranced by a book the weight of the book, the pages, the actual physicality of the room and chair you sit upon are no longer there?
This is what we call Trance (or Hypnosis), a natural phenomenon we do every day, many, many times of day, it’s the brains natural way to recalibrate, relax or consolidate information, often after a daydream/Trance we can come up with new ideas, find that name we had forgotten, its where our conscious dials down and our subconscious, this vast area, like a library can be accessed to get the answers, solutions, memories or to file away new ideas and things just learnt.
So as a hypnotherapist the second half of the session we invite you on lie on a couch and relax, we guide you into trance, a relaxed daydream, mediative state where the practitioner will use positive suggestion, guided imagery to access the subconscious and help you change old unwanted patterns of behaviour and replace with positive solutions and goals which you have already discussed within the first part of the session.
With this positive therapy we are able adjust the brains equilibrium or homeostasis, rebalancing the nervous system, relieving negativity, stress and restoring whatever was holding you back naturally and when you come out of the Trance you may have remembered everything I said, you may not but it doesn’t really matter. Either way that subconscious was taking everything in, and you will feel relaxed with a sense of calm and positivity.
There are no pocket watches, and we certainly can’t brain wash you!
Unfortunately, stage shows, for entertainment, have given hypnotists a bad name, but unlike what you see on TV your brain will not allow you to do anything you don’t want to do. (Yes, those people on stage really did want to crawl around barking like a dog!)
Have you ever been so immersed in a good movie you forget time, space etc? Many times, I’m sure, this is Trance/Hypnosis, but you’re not so ‘out of it’ that you don’t snap back into the room when you hear the knock on the front door from your delivery driver. Your mind is too clever to not do anything it doesn’t want too.
We are a recognised alternative therapy within the NHS supporting people to quit smoking, vaping and empowering ladies in their pregnancy, labour journey and beyond.
Online hypnotherapy has its advantages for the client. It can slot into your working day at a time and place that is of convenience to them. The client will need good internet connection and have no distractions and feel in a calm comfortable safe space.
The therapist will need to see you from the shoulders up at least, so a good microphone and webcam is important. On line therapy can be good as a stepping stone towards face to face therapy where anxiety and self confidence can be holding them back from face to face. On line hypnotherapy also gives the client more autonomy to find a therapist any where in the country that suits the needs of the individual, in a setting of the clients choosing.
Life can happen and unfortunately internet connection can go down, if this happens during the hypnosis part of the session, you will become aware and you will be able to exit out of the hypnosis all by yourself.
Imagine it like being fully immersed in a film, you are able to redirect yourself away from the film if there’s a knock on the door, or if someone walks into the room for example. The therapist will have already taken your phone number so you will be contacted if internet is lost.
During the Free initial phone call, we will ascertain together how I can help you? Whether that's with confidence, sleep, pain, anxiety etc The session will not contain the talk therapy but purely a 30 min hypnosis session that we can tailor to your needs. These sessions will help with your general wellbeing or are a perfect addition to the main therapy sessions.
Please note these sessions alone cannot help with quitting smoking and phobias. So please do call to find out if they can help you.

If a session must be cancelled, then there will be no charge if at least 24 hrs notice has been given.
However, the full session fee will be payable if the cancellation is within 24hrs.
In the event of a non-attendance, if you do not make contact within 24 hrs the following treatment spaces will be re allocated.
Punctuality is hugely important. Please arrive to the session 5 mins before and leave plenty of time for traffic and parking.
If on zoom the session will open 15 min before allocated time. Please use this time to switch on and wait to be admitted.
If less than 10 mins late the remainder of the session will proceed but will finish at allocated time.
If more than 10 mins late the session may have to be rescheduled with a cancellation fee payable.
Your commitment to participate fully in the process throughout each session and at home is fundamental for reaching a positive outcome.
I as a therapist can give you the tools and knowledge, but it is with full understanding that practice at home will need to be done and that it is integral to actual change.
I as a therapist must undertake regular supervision as a legal requirement by my governing body the NCH (National Council of Hypnotherapy) Due to the nature of my work this is essential, any information regarding clients remains anonymous.
I am a fully registered member of the NCH (National Council of Hypnotherapy) and the AfSFH (Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy) I am easibirth trained and I am required to abide by their code of ethics and practice. I am a fully insured practitioner.
